1. Background

SMART is a not-for-profit, IRS 501(c)(19), Veterans’ Travel organization. Like other non-profit organizations we rely on sources other than dues for financial support. Most of our members have enjoyed many years of SMART caravans, musters, and other activities and are strong, life-long believers in our motto “Seeing the Country We Defend.” SMART members are generous with their time and often donate to veteran organizations, schools, and many worthwhile charities. The Board of Directors approved a Donation Program to help broaden our revenue base. Like many organizations that support veterans and help enrich their and our lives, SMART is a worthy recipient of your special financial support. Your donations may be tax deductible.

• Donate Online. You can pay online via PayPal or mail a check to SMART Headquarters. When you make a donation, you will be asked whether you desire to remain anonymous, or have your donation acknowledged on SMART’s website, Traveler or E-News.

• Legacy. Many members are enjoying the camaraderie of SMART in their golden years and would like to ensure our organization continues for the enjoyment of their families and all veterans. Some may want to include a portion of their estate by specifying a donation in their wills and trusts.
