North Mid West Region

Our Region is very close-knit and caring of one another. Although we encompass 7 states, ND, SD, NE, WY, CO, KS, & MO, at the present time we have chapters in CO, KS, & MO. Our 4 chapters (2 in KS), are active and hold musters all summer - usually May - September. Some of the chapters hold luncheons through the winter months at their favorite restaurants. Each chapter finds time and money to donate to local veteran organizations such as hospitals, nursing care facilities, etc.

We have loads of fun together and always welcome newcomers to our musters. We travel extensively around our region and really enjoy "seeing the country we defend". Come out and join us at any muster near you, you'll be glad you did!

Chapter Information

KS Cavalry

logo

The Kansas Calvary Chapter has been in existence for approximately ten years. The Chapter was formed when an organizational meeting was held at Fort Riley. When it was founded there were eight rigs. A number of the charter members belonged to other chapters and joined to help get the chapter started.

The logo for the charter is a replica of "Old Bill" and is taken from a statue located on the Parade ground at Fort Riley. At one time in its history, Fort Riley was the Calvary post for the U.S. Army. The new Chapter received permission from officials at Fort Riley to use “Old Bill” for our Chapter logo.

The Chapter is an active group. With the exception of January and February, we try to meet once a month. During the non-camping months, we have meetings at a favorite restaurant for lunch. When warmer weather arrives, we have a monthly muster. There are numerous campgrounds in Kansas, so there is never a problem finding a place to go. With the amount of history that has taken place in Kansas, there are always places to go and see. Local restaurants are usually found and everyone is well fed.

Our invitation to all SMART members and anyone who might be interested in SMART is always open, if you are traveling through and the opportunity arises, stop and join us and see what Kansas has to offer.

Midway USA

logo

MIDWAY USA is a North Midwest Regional (NMW) S*M*A*R*T Chapter. The North Midwest Region of SMART includes the Dakotas, Nebraska, Missouri, Kansas, Colorado, and Wyoming, although members are not limited to these states. We are primarily Kansas Military Veterans with members who reside in Kansas, Oklahoma, and Missouri. Our membership have included Navy, Army, Air Force, Marines, Coast Guard, Reserves, National Guard, and Active Duty. ALL VETERANS who served honorably in the military are more than welcome to join. We welcome Veterans from anywhere to join the fun and Comradery of MIDWAY USA.

MIDWAY USA musters monthly from April through November. We primarily muster in campgrounds in Kansas, occasionally in Colorado, Nebraska, Missouri, and Oklahoma. In April, we join with the other NMW chapters for a Regional Muster. In September, our Muster is at the National Muster. The National Muster is held annually in different locations in the US, The site rotates in locations in the SE, NE, MW, NW, and SW. In November, many of us muster in Branson for the Veterans Celebration, along with members of the other NMW chapters. Our Musters often coincide with a local celebration or event, such as Wine Festivals, Air Shows, and Local Historical Celebrations. In addition, we tour local interesting, unusual, or historical sites in the area surrounding the Muster. We plan meals in local restaurants and pot lucks. Usually the evenings are reserved for games and socializing.

We enjoy camping with other Military Veterans who have common experience and service to our country. Along with the musters, the MIDWAY USA chapter proudly supports Veterans Homes and Wounded Warriors, as well as other Veteran related charities. Serving and seeing the Country We Defend.

SMART MoHawks

logo

The S M A R T  Mohawks’ Chapter covers the entire state of Missouri and was established in 1997 with 8 Charter members. We have members from all over the state. We hold Musters monthly from April through November each year with eight to 10 rigs in attendance. We try to choose a campground that has a building so that we can visit, play games and, of course, eat! The camaraderie is so special with S M A R T people. It’s an important part of belonging to a chapter. All veterans who have served honorably in the military and are members of S M A R T  are welcome to join the Mohawks.

For the past several years, our annual project as a chapter has been to visit one of the seven veteran’s homes in Missouri. We donate money and leave health and comfort items for the residents as well as visit with as many residents there as possible. We completed that project having visited all seven homes, and will start over visiting each one again. We also look forward to new projects involving veterans in the future.

S M A R T  members, both new and old, and guests are always welcome! Check us out. If you have any questions feel free to call any of our officers or any member of the Mohawks. Hope you come and join us at one of our musters.
